A great place to begin.

From Our Pastor

A Message from Pastor Charles Stacy

Perhaps it is my perspective as a pastor but it seems to me that we all face difficulties in life. The young must face the challenges of school, peer pressure, physical and social development. Those of us who are beyond adolescents and young adulthood must face the challenges of marriage and family responsibility, health issues, financial difficulties, and so much more. And of course, the older we get the more we must come to terms with life’s inevitable decline and end. We never know what tomorrow will bring. That helps me understand the importance of faith in God. With faith we know we can handle the struggles and difficulties of life. As the Psalmist says, “You are indeed my rock and my fortress; for your name’s sake lead me and guide me.” We do not suffer alone. One function of the church is to offer help and guidance to those who are facing difficulties. Paul, in closing out his letter to the church in Galatia states: “Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” Take the time this month to pray for a person you know is hurting. One of the greatest gifts we can offer another is time and a ministry of listening. Perhaps, you are afraid to open up and share what you are going through. If so, call me and I will be happy to come over and listen. I may not have all the answers but I will help you on your journey to find faith and strength.

Peace,
Charles
